tomatofest! Sat 4/7
Saturday April 7th
featuring tomatoband w/ Fusion Jonez
Charleston, SC - If you had plans for April 7th you'll probably have to move them around because tomatoband is pleased to announce the first ever 'tomatofest' on the grounds of the Purple Buffalo in observance of national fresh tomato day! Festivities commence at 2 p.m. and will feature some of the finest and most interesting artists and vendors in the Charleston area, not to mention an outdoor stage and bar! Warm weather is finally here and we have shaken off our winter wear to welcome in all of the radiance of the spring garden! Local tomato growers will be on site with plants to help you get your very own tomato garden started for the season, and permaculture experts from the CofC Office of Sustainability can answer any of your questions about keeping it real with the environment.
As Fusion Jonez grooves us through the afternoon, watch a host of live painters and performers transform the grounds into a truly unique celebration of life and especially the tomato. Just when you think it couldn't get any better, tomatoband takes the stage to add a soundtrack to the sunset and to take us deep into the night.
Taste-testers needed! A salsa/guacamole contest will be underway, so be sure to try them all and pick your favorite!
Fancy yourself a chef? Be sure to register before hand and bring enough salsa or guacamole for a crowd! Prizes for the winners sponsored by the Purple Buffalo, Chico Feo, and Taco Spot!
